    About this Project:

Welcome to TechBuilders inaugural project in the Tour of Remodeled Homes – this may be the smartest 100 year old home you ever see! On display is the first phase of the total renovation of this home purchased in 2008 – Phase II will be a kitchen addition and basement renovation. The first and second floors have been gutted and completely remodeled. Our hope with this home was to move it into the future while still maintaining some of the original personality. While the condition of the house was such that very little could be salvaged, renovations have been completed with traditional materials details with a few twists. Oak and Wenge flooring, quarter sawn oak trim, built-ins and coffered ceilings are all included as well as all kinds of automation including distributed audio/video, security, surveillance, automated blinds and door locks and much more. There is a lot to see in this project – inside and out!

    TechBuilder of Iowa

TechBuilder of Iowa was founded in 2014 by Scott Spetman. Scott has been in the construction industry and the audio/video/automation industry for over 15 years and working within both of those industries has given him an uncommon construction perspective. Home building is becoming much more than just building - it has become a science. Whether it is new construction or remodeling, there is benefit in all systems in your home working together for efficiency, convenience, comfort, control and peace of mind. Whether is its addressing a single room or an entire house, TechBuilders' purpose is to combine quality construction and remodeling with any or all of the options that are available to homeowners today to make their home live and operate in the way that they it to.
